The Richard J Stephenson ‘62 Tau Chapter Hall of Fame

Richard J Stephenson ‘62 speaks at the Tau Chapter 175th Celebration Banquet on October 28, 2023.

The Tau Chapter Hall of Fame was a concept created by the undergraduate brothers on their own initiative in 2014 to recognize alumni with a distinguished history of service to the chapter. The first inductee that same year was Cal Black ’66. For the 175th celebration banquet special presentation, Adam Collins ’02, president of the Wabash Beta Alumni Association, announced that the Tau Chapter Hall of Fame would be inducting its third member, Richard J Stephenson ’62, and, further, that the hall of fame would be renamed the Richard J Stephenson ’62 Tau Chapter Hall of Fame.

In his “public life”, Mr. Stephenson is a global private merchant banker and the founder and former chairman of Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Professionally, Mr. Stephenson’s experience and expertise is in global merchant banking, finance, healthcare, and real estate, and he has served on the boards of many professional, political, service, civic, and charitable institutions. Mr. Stephenson graduated from Wabash College in 1962 and was a campus leader as well as a leader in the Beta House during his time as a student. He and Dr. Stacie Stephenson graciously served as presenting sponsors of the Tau Chapter 175th Celebration Banquet and Tailgate in 2023.

The Wabash Beta Alumni Association works with the undergraduate chapter to induct new members into the hall of fame when merited and seeks out alumni who have exhibited a history of distinguished service to Tau Chapter. A current roster of members, in order of their induction, is below:
